Library News - February 2010
Income Tax Assistance
Volunteers from VITA, an IRS service, are offering income tax
assistance on Tuesday mornings from 9 to 12, February 2nd through
April 13th. Those with an annual income of $51,000 or less may
take advantage of it.
There are no evening hours. The first flyers we handed out at the
Library listed evening hours. But not enough volunteers came forward,
so VITA had to cut back to mornings only.
VITA provides the service on a first-come, first serve basis. They do
not take appointments in advance. They usually provide a signup sheet each morning when they are here, and decide how many people they can help. Library staff are not involved in this process.
